I’m always excited to witness the incredible work of our local community champions, and this year’s Audentior Awards was a powerful reminder of the dedication and passion that makes Watford such a special place to live.
Held at the Watford Palace Theatre, the 2025 Audentior Awards celebrated the efforts of individuals, groups, and organisations whose contributions truly go above and beyond. From transforming green spaces to mentoring young people, this year’s winners have shown just how much can be achieved when people come together to make a difference.
Shining a Light on Watford’s Community Champions
The event, organised by the elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, and the Chairwoman of the council, Councillor Dawn Allen-Williamson, was a heartfelt celebration of those who selflessly dedicate their time and energy to making Watford a better place for all of us.
The Audentior Awards are unique in that they’re entirely driven by the public, with residents nominating those they believe deserve to be recognised. It’s always a humbling process to hear about the unsung heroes who quietly make a big impact on their community.
A Personal Take on the Nominee Videos
Being involved in creating the nominator videos this year was a real privilege. I was able to capture the passion and enthusiasm of the people behind the nominations, and it was clear to me that Watford is home to some truly inspiring individuals. These stories reminded me that heroes don’t always wear capes – they can be your neighbours, your colleagues, or even people you’ve never met but whose work makes your life just a little bit better.
