I’m excited to share a recent project I had the privilege of completing for Epson, the renowned global technology leader. This wasn’t your typical case study – it was a heartfelt and inspiring story that showcased not just innovative technology but also the enduring value of quality and sustainability.
The journey started with a simple but impactful letter written by Roger Swann, the founder of Cigol Controls LTD, to Epson. Roger proudly shared that his trusted dot matrix printer, purchased back in 1982, was still going strong 42 years later – but was nearing the end of its natural life span due to his customers now receiving invoices and purchase orders via PDF and email. In an era of disposable gadgets, this tale of longevity stood out, and Epson’s marketing team recognised it as the perfect story to celebrate reliability and sustainability.
Bringing Roger’s Story to Life
Charlie, Epson’s PR and Social Media Manager, reached out to commission the video that would highlight Roger’s story. It was a unique challenge – unlike Epson’s usual case studies – but the narrative was clear: in a world where everything feels replaceable, we can all take a page from Roger’s book and strive to maintain and cherish what we own.
To capture this inspiring tale, the project took us to a beautiful Devon village, not far from Seaton’s stunning coastline, where Roger’s story unfolded. Additional filming was conducted at Epson’s UK headquarters in Watford, providing a professional backdrop that tied in the corporate perspective on product excellence.
A Memorable Project
This project wasn’t just about creating a video; it was about sharing a story that resonates with values like sustainability, quality, and customer loyalty. For me, as a videographer, it was a brilliant experience collaborating with Epson to bring Roger’s inspiring narrative to life.
If you’re interested in seeing how Epson’s technology has made a difference for one loyal customer, stay tuned for the release of this incredible case study.
Thank you, Epson, for entrusting me with such a meaningful project. It was truly a privilege to work on something that celebrates not only your products but also your commitment to making a positive impact.
