The brief

HUC Healthcare needed recruitment content that would give potential applicants a genuine insight into what happens behind the scenes at its emergency call centre in Peterborough.

The aim was to show the variety of roles involved in helping people who need medical assistance, while giving prospective employees a better understanding of the people, environment and work behind the 111 service.

The main requirement was one strong recruitment film, supported by shorter snippets that could be used across social media to extend the campaign and reach potential applicants in different ways.

Behind the Scenes

The approach

  • What happens when someone calls the NHS 111 service
  • How calls are assessed and directed towards the appropriate care
  • The variety of roles involved in supporting patients
  • What it is like to work behind the scenes at HUC Healthcare
  • The people and teams who make the service work

Production

  • Filming staff and stakeholders across the call centre
  • Capturing the working environment and day-to-day activity
  • Explaining the journey from an incoming 111 call through to determining the appropriate care
  • Interviewing contributors about their roles and experiences
  • Creating one finished recruitment film telling the wider story
  • Producing shorter social media snippets to support the recruitment campaign
  • Working closely with HUC Healthcare’s communications team throughout the production
  • Completing the edit and incorporating three rounds of feedback before final delivery

The result

Why this project worked

This project shows how one well-planned recruitment shoot can produce more than a single film. By capturing the people, environment and processes behind HUC Healthcare’s 111 service, the production gave potential applicants a genuine insight into the organisation while creating additional social content that could keep the recruitment campaign working for longer.
